This watercolor is one of my favorite art pieces as it is of my dog, Flora, and her friend, Jasmine.
I was inspired to paint this piece when I saw a photo my mom took of the dogs on the beach. In the photo, they were standing by the exquisite sunset, and I was captivated by the beauty. When I began painting it, I decided to add seashells because the beach had many unique shells that always caught my attention. I also added the dog footprints because I noticed that the dogs left footprints around the beach, and they really stood out as another nice detail. I drew the sunset with different varieties of colors mixed together, such as purple, pink, blue, orange, and a light shade of both blue and purple. I used orange and yellow for the reflection of the sun. I used a dark shade of blue and a light shade of blue for the ocean. I also painted my dog's favorite ball because she received it when she was a puppy and it is her favorite toy. This scene is special to me because it is on the beach near my house and it holds many special memories to me.
